We feed Kentucky Derby winners!
Tour a uniquely Kentucky office space that feels and looks more like a museum than a business.
Just one of the numerous ancillary businesses in Central Kentucky that support the horse industry, it’s a real way to learn about something most racing fans never even consider.
While no horses are on the premises, stories abound and betting tips come cheap!
On your visit to Hallway Feeds, we will welcome you to our family. A short introductory video will begin your experience and introduce you to the local family that owns and operates Hallway Feeds and made it a benchmark among equine feed producers. We will go behind the scenes and walk through the plant to view manufacturing operations and offer our guests the opportunity to get their hands into freshly made feeds, smell the warm molasses, and discuss the banners regaling the legions of Thoroughbred racing champions that have been fueled by Hallway Feeds: BARBARO, Triple Crown winners AMERICAN PHAROAH and JUSTIFY to name just a few.
Hungry? Not only will you see how the feed is made, if you're brave enough give the feed a taste!

Robert ‘Bob’ Hall Jr. grew up raising cattle, harvesting grain and tending family land in Scott County, Kentucky. It was in those fields that his legacy was sown. After graduating from the University of Kentucky in 1953, Mr. Bob was already an experienced agriculturalist. He honed his expertise on cattle farms in Kentucky and New York. So when a local feed mill came up for sale in 1964, Mr. Bob and his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Hall, saw an opportunity and purchased the business. For nearly thirty years, Farmers Feed Mill supplied commodity feedstuffs to the area’s dairy and beef cattle farms. During that time, Lexington urbanized, the landscape of Kentucky agriculture evolved, and Thoroughbred racing became a thriving industry.
Farmers Feed Mill evolved as well, introducing the Hallway Feeds brand to supply Thoroughbred farms with the highest quality, custom-manufactured feeds. Shortly thereafter, Hallway Feeds moved to a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution facility, where it is currently located. As the demand for specialized horse feed grew, Hallway Feeds spearheaded the scientific advancement of equine nutrition.
Through research partnerships with top universities around the country, and with Kentucky Equine Research, Hallway Feeds has remained at the forefront of equine nutrition, continually developing innovative feed and supplements for customers around the world.
