Since 1952, Pin Oak Stud has made a name for itself in the Thoroughbred industry, breeding, raising, and racing high-quality horses. Founded by Ms. Josephine Abercrombie, Pin Oak has produced or campaigned over 100 stakes winners, including four champions. Pin Oak was purchased by Jim and Dana Bernhard in 2022. The Bernhards are committed to upholding the legacy established by Ms. Abercrombie while bringing a modern approach to the industry.
The farm totals 1,258 acres and has 14 barns on both sides of U.S. 60 in Versailles, Ky. Pin Oak’s unparalleled purpose is to maintain a beautiful, tranquil site for our horses and staff and a top-notch training program for racehorses of all ages. Pin Oak does its own yearling breaking, pre-training, layups, rehabs, and retraining of racehorses, in addition to breeding and raising foals, making it a truly full-service Thoroughbred farm.
