ABOUT TAYLOR MADE FARM Taylor Made Farm was established in 1976 by Duncan Taylor on a small piece of land in Nicholasville, Kentucky. In the early 1980s, Taylor Made pioneered the consignment model at public auction—at a time when most breeders sold their own horses directly. Taylor Made was among the first to professionally market each horse to a targeted group of buyers, helping transform the way Thoroughbreds were presented and sold. That innovation laid the foundation for what would become one of the most successful sales agencies in the world. Today, Taylor Made is the highest-grossing consignor in history, having sold over $3 billion worth of horses, including 139 Grade 1 winners. The farm is owned and operated by Duncan and his brothers—Frank, Mark, and Ben Taylor—along with lifelong friend and partner Pat Payne. Now joined by the third generation—Katie, Marshall, Joe, and Brooks Taylor, plus Logan and Alex Payne—Taylor Made continues to lead the industry in both volume and results, selling more horses at Keeneland than any other consignor and providing world-class care, preparation, and marketing for clients around the globe. Learn more about Taylor Made Farm by visiting their website, through their TripAdvisor page, or their social media accounts: Facebook | Instagram | Twitter. Stallion Meet & Greet at WinStar Farm Join us for an exclusive tour as we celebrate the farms 25th anniversary with two of WinStar’s incredible racehorses and Breeders’ Cup winners! Get up close and personal with two-time Breeders’ Cup Classic Winner, TIZNOW and Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winner, LIFE IS GOOD. Guests will also have the opportunity to take individual professional photos with TIZNOW and LIFE IS GOOD. This event will be an unforgettable experience reflecting on the horses’ legendary race careers and the bright future ahead. ABOUT WINSTAR FARM WinStar was founded on a dream in 2000 by friends and business partners, Kenny Troutt and Bill Casner. What started as a 400-acre property – the former Prestonwood Farm – has grown to over 2,500 acres and is home to nearly 700 horses. WinStar started with just 4 stallions, one of which happened to be a young, unproven Distorted Humor who went on to sire 4 champions. A lot like Distorted Humor, WinStar had a humble beginning, but now competes at the highest level of racing, is home to elite stallions such as Life is Good and Constitution, and brilliant broodmares, which helped earn the farm two Eclipse awards for Outstanding Breeder in 2016 and 2020. WinStar regularly ranks among the Top 10 North American breeders and has been in the Top Five by earnings each year since 2014. WinStar topped all breeders in 2018 with $8.6 million in earnings. We attribute our success to our dedication to the horse, from birth through retirement. Our commitment to the horse and our wider community is at the core of our mission statement, “The WinStar family strives to glorify God by raising superior horses, using the most caring and innovative practices, while loving our neighbors as ourselves, whether employees, clients, or vendors.” WinStar aims to be a guiding light not only in the thoroughbred industry, but also to our community. BEST FOR All Ages + Kid-Friendly, curious, casual and committed fans welcome ON THE TOUR You will be walking & standing throughout the tour Meet 11 retired Thoroughbred racehorses who are living out their days in peaceful retirement in the midst of the beauty that is Chestnut Hall Farm in Oldham County Kentucky – a mere 30 minutes from downtown Louisville. The TRF tour guide will lead you on a walking tour to visit three pastures around the farm where you will have the opportunity to interact with the horses (who love having their photos taken!) and experience the tranquility of “horses being horses”. The tour will conclude on the porch of the historic farmhouse at Chestnut Hall, with a phenomenal view overlooking the horses and inspiring you to learn more, and hopefully to visit again soon! Each horse at Chestnut Hall is an Ambassador for the 500 horses cared for by TRF and each horse has a story to tell! This tour is suitable for all ages and photos are encouraged. We are an active working horse farm, so closed toed shoes are advised. ABOUT TRF AT CHESTNUT HALL Established in April 2021, the TRF Sanctuary Farm at Chestnut Hall introduces the Louisville community, neighbors from across the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and visitors from around the world to the beauty and magic of Thoroughbred horses. This beautiful 25-acre farm in Prospect, KY serves as the “forever home” for retired Thoroughbred racehorses from the national herd of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. The horses serve as ambassadors for Thoroughbred aftercare, educating racing fans and the community at large about these equine athletes and the importance of providing a “soft landing” to transition them to the next chapter of their long lives when their racing careers are over. Throughout the year, TRF welcomes visitors to Chestnut Hall for tours and special events to meet the horses and learn about the lives of Thoroughbred racehorses and the many gifts they bring to the communities where they live. Most horses under TRF care have suffered career-ending injuries that make them suitable only for quiet retirement in pasture. However, many TRF horses are successfully retrained and adopted into homes where they begin new lives as pets, competition horses, police mounts, or equine-assisted therapy partners. The TRF is also known for its pioneering Second Chances Programs. The closest one is located at Blackburn Correctional Complex. TRF retired Thoroughbreds are paired with incarcerated individuals, offering a unique opportunity for both horses and humans to find purpose and healing. Through this program, inmates learn valuable life and vocational skills in horse care and farm management, while the horses receive the compassionate attention they deserve. This transformative initiative highlights the powerful bond between humans and horses, creating second chances for all involved. Looking for a different time to visit TRF at Chestnut Hall? This property spans 850 acres and sits on both sides of Leestown Road. Resolute runs its main broodmare and nursery on the south side of the property where it backs up to the Elkhorn, while the north side cares for its yearlings and racing layups. ABOUT RUNNYMEDE FARM Ever since Runnymede was founded in 1867, the farm has been a vital part of the Thoroughbred industry. The farm was originally established on family property by Colonel Ezekiel Clay, whose father was a member of the United States Congress and a breeder of Thoroughbreds and champion cattle. The nursery holds the distinct honor of being the oldest continuously operated Thoroughbred breeding farm in Kentucky, according to the Daughters of the American Revolution. Runnymede is now the domain of Catesby W. Clay, a grandson of Col. Clay and one of the most respected breeders in the business. Although the breeding, raising and selling of horses has changed markedly in the nearly 150 years since the farm was founded, Runnymede’s commitment to quality has never wavered. Even today, Catesby Clay and his son, Runnymede President Brutus J. Clay III, remain true to the beliefs and principles utilized by generations of their family in hopes of breeding and raising the best horses possible. Home of SACRE COEUR, mother of LADY ELI, Grade I winner of the 2014 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. Since 2007, Runnymede has also bred and raised four other horses that have hit the board in Breeders’ Cup races. Other notable champions include bred and raised MAGE (Kentucky Derby), DORNOCH (Belmont Stakes), BEN BRUSH (Kentucky Derby) and HANOVER (Belmont Stakes by 15 lengths), two stallions found in the pedigree of nearly every Classic winner in the last 50 years.
