This seasonal celebration is the perfect way to kick off the holidays with family and friends while supporting a meaningful cause. Set on the beautiful grounds of Chestnut Hall, guests will enjoy a scenic hayride through the rolling pastures, where you’ll meet, pet, and feed treats to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation’s beloved herd. Along the way, take in the sounds of holiday music, sip warm cider or hot chocolate, and capture unforgettable memories with Santa and the horses themselves. This is an outdoor farm event. Please dress warmly, wear close-toed shoes, and be prepared for a fun-filled day outside with the horses. Come for the holiday magic, stay for the horses. Together, we’ll celebrate the season and support a dignified future for retired Thoroughbred racehorses. This event is perfect for anyone who loves horses—or just wants to experience the peace and beauty of the Bluegrass in the holiday season. You’ll have the chance to meet adoptable horses of all breeds, learn about their care, rehabilitation, and retraining, and maybe even give a horse a peppermint.
