Tour Information

What type of tour experiences are there?
  • Meet the Neighbors will include a variety of tours at Horse Country member locations, including stallion farms, nurseries with mares and foals, veterinary clinics, aftercare facilities, a sport horse farm, and a racetrack!
How long are the tours?
  • Tours for Meet the Neighbors are approximately 1 hour. The length of each experience will be noted in the tour description. Tours require walking/standing throughout the duration of the tour.
How do I find out about Meet the Neighbors tour availability?
  • Explore availability at www.visithorsecountry.com/meettheneighbors. We recommend visiting the location in your community! Or if you have a family, explore the family friendly options available.
Can I visit more than one location?
  • Guests are limited to 4 tickets to a single location per household. As we have limited availability, we want as many community members as possible to have a chance to visit their local Horse Country location. Booking more than one experience can result in all of your tickets being void and cancelled.
Who can attend Meet the Neighbors tours?
  • The weekend of Meet the Neighbors is for our locals that live right here in Horse Country! If you aren’t a a resident of the area, you can book your experiences at visithorsecountry.com!
Can I use my wheelchair?

Ticket Information

How many tickets can I book for this event?
  • Guests are limited to 4 tickets to a single location per household. As we have limited availability, we want as many community members as possible to have a chance to visit their local Horse Country location. Booking more than one experience can result in all of your tickets being void and cancelled.
What is the cost of Meet the Neighbors?
  • The weekend of Meet the Neighbors tours are completely complimentary for our local fans and community in Horse Country!
Do I need a ticket for my baby/toddler?
  • Children ages 0-2 years old do not need a ticket. However, for safety reasons, the infant/toddler will need to be carried or in a stroller for the duration of the tour. Some tours offered as part of Meet the Neighbors are better suited for children then others. Please explore the family friendly options, linked on the Meet the Neighbors page.
May I walk up to a tour at its scheduled time without advance ticket purchase?
  • No. Every individual guest must be ticketed in advance. On-site/on-the-spot reservations are not currently available for Meet the Neighbors When you purchase your ticket, you will receive an email confirmation but we do not have paper tickets to present to the location.
Do I have to have paper tickets?
  • No! Our ticketing system will email you a confirmation of your order, but there are no physical/paper tickets to print or present at the time of the tour. Your host location will have you on a list of confirmed guests according to your confirmed transaction. If you did not receive an email confirmation at the time of purchase, please reach out to us: 859-963-1004 or [email protected] to confirm the status of your reservation.
Is a tip or gratuity expected?
  • It’s never expected or required, but you are welcome to unless otherwise instructed by the guide.
I didn’t get the tickets or date that I wanted.
  • We’re sorry to hear that! Unfortunately, we have limited availability with Meet the Neighbors, but fortunately you can book an experience in Horse Country all year long. Check out visithorsecountry.com and book a tour today!
What if I book more than what is allowed?
  • Booking more than 4 tickets and/or more than a single location could result in all of your tickets being void and cancelled. Availability for this special event is limited and we want to welcome and share Horse Country with as many of our local fans as we can.

After Booking

Once you’ve found and purchased a ticket for your tour – get ready for a behind-the-scenes experience with the Horse Country member. Here’s the gist:

  • You’ll receive a confirmation email with arrival details and any other instructions to help you prepare ahead of your tour
  • You’ll drive yourself to the Horse Country member location for your tour
  • We know you’ll have a wonderful time on your tour!
  • Afterwards, tag @VisitHorseCountry and the member location in your social media posts sharing your experience
  • Come back and visit us here in Horse Country OR book another tour during your stay!

Cancellation Policy

What is cancellation policy for Meet the Neighbors?
  • Please let us know if you are unable to make the tour. As availability is limited, we will cancel your booking to ensure another community member has an opportunity to join if you cannot make it!
What if the weather is bad?
  • Tours are conducted rain or shine; in the case of severe weather, we may have to cancel this event.

Transportation

When should I arrive for my tour?
  • We ask that guests do not arrive to a location any earlier than 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour. Please refer to your email order confirmation to see the exact instructions on when to arrive for your tour.
Do you provide transportation to the different farms?
  • We do not provide transportation between farms. If you need recommendations/referrals to professional tour operators in the area, please reach out to the Horse Country team at 859-963-1004 or [email protected].
Can I take an Uber/Lyft to my tour?
  • Most farms allow guests to arrive via rideshare, but we ask that you have a scheduled ride to leave the farm once your experience has finished. Certain farms do not allow arrivals or pickups by rideshare, which will be denoted in the experience description. If you have a question regarding a certain farm, please call our team at 859-963-1004 or [email protected].

What can and can’t I bring to the tour?

Can I bring my dog?
  • Horse Country loves pets! However, for the safety and well being of all animals and humans, Horse Country guests are not permitted to bring personal pets to member locations during tours. The animals may not participate in a tour, nor may they remain in a vehicle on property during the duration of the tour.
