Double Dan Horsemanship is a world-renowned equine training facility located in Midway, Kentucky, known for producing elite performance horses for film, television, live entertainment, and international competition. Owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Dan and Elizabeth James, the farm is home to a diverse group of equine athletes—from off-track Thoroughbreds and miniature trick ponies to Freestyle Reining Champions and Spanish imports. Dan James has performed at some of the most prestigious venues around the world, including the World Equestrian Games, Run for a Million, Equitana, The American Performance Horseman, and the Calgary Stampede. He has also trained horses featured in campaigns for Vogue, Versace, and major television productions such as Heartland and The Abandons.
Today, the farm serves as both a professional training center and a tourism destination, offering behind-the-scenes experiences that give visitors an inside look at Liberty training, stunt preparation, and the daily routines of horses working at the highest levels of sport and entertainment. With a strong focus on communication, connection, and versatility, Double Dan Horsemanship invites guests to experience a truly unique side of Kentucky horse country.
