The home of Constitution, Life is Good, Cogburn, Country Grammer, and many more! Come and visit WinStar Farm, an Eclipse Award-winning Thoroughbred breeding and racing operation.

This one-hour tour will immerse you in the world of thoroughbred breeding. The tour will begin in our stallion barn where guests will get to learn about the history and operations of WinStar before meeting some of the champions that call the farm home. You will be able to view a selection of stallions from our roster and learn about their pedigree, progeny, race records, and quirks. On this tour you may meet a Breeders’ Cup winner or multimillionaire!

Along with meeting our star-studded stallion roster you will get to visit our state-of-the-art dual breeding shed where we welcome up to 2,000 mares every year! Learn about what goes into thoroughbred breeding from one of the industry’s leading farms.

We do our best to let fans meet our stallions; however, there are no guarantees that can be made for any stallion on any particular tour.

Please note, Distorted Humor and Tiznow are both fully retired, and will not be pulled out to be shown during tours. They may be viewed in their stalls or outside, when their schedule allows.

For the safety of guests and horses, tour guests are not allowed to touch stallions during this tour.

ABOUT WINSTAR FARM

WinStar was founded on a dream in 2000 by friends and business partners, Kenny Troutt and Bill Casner. What started as a 400-acre property – the former Prestonwood Farm – has grown to over 2,500 acres and is home to nearly 700 horses. WinStar started with just 4 stallions, one of which happened to be a young, unproven Distorted Humor who went on to sire 4 champions.

A lot like Distorted Humor, WinStar had a humble beginning, but now competes at the highest level of racing, is home to elite stallions such as Speightstown and Constitution, and brilliant broodmares, which helped earn the farm two Eclipse awards for Outstanding Breeder in 2016 and 2020. WinStar regularly ranks among the Top 10 North American breeders and has been in the Top Five by earnings each year since 2014. WinStar topped all breeders in 2018 with $8.6 million in earnings.

We attribute our success to our dedication to the horse, from birth through retirement.
