WHAT YOU’LL SEE Stallions, you may take pictures, but this is a hands-off tour BEST FOR All Ages, curious, casual, and committed fans welcome ON THE TOUR You will be walking & standing throughout the tour Spendthrift Farm welcomes you to immerse yourself in the historical culture of thoroughbred breeding on this tour of the stallion complex. The tour will visit the historic stallion complex and state-of-the-art dual breeding shed, unlike any other in the Bluegrass, where more than 3,000 mares walk through its doors during any given breeding season. You will view a selection of the Spendthrift Farm stallions, while learning about their race record, pedigree and progeny, before walking through the rest of the stallion barn to see the many champions that call Spendthrift home. Throughout the tour, you will learn about Spendthrift’s colorful founder, the larger than life Leslie Combs, who was known for both entertaining celebrity guests and revolutionizing the thoroughbred industry. You will also hear more on industry innovator B. Wayne Hughes, who has not only revitalized Spendthrift Farm but invested in the sport of horse racing for years to come. Please note: You will not see a live breeding on this tour.
