This December 13th, Resolute Racing is transforming the farm into a winter wonderland for an unforgettable family adventure: Santa’s Stop at Resolute! Bring the kids, bundle up, and get ready to experience the magic of Christmas.

This event supports the Woodford County Food Pantry, and donations of canned goods will be accepted throughout the day!

Your holiday journey begins at our Visitors Center, where guests will check in, enjoy festive décor, and load up for a shuttle ride to Santa’s Barn!

Upon arrival at Santa’s barn, families will be greeted by Santa’s beloved “reindeer”- gentle, friendly, and ready for photos.

Then comes the moment the kids have been waiting for: a personal visit and photo opportunity with Santa Claus! Capture memories to treasure forever with this exclusive barnside experience.

This is a perfect chance for families and children to get up-close with our horses, learn a little about life on the farm, and experience Resolute’s warm, welcoming environment during the most magical season of the year.

After visiting Santa, guests will return to the Visitors Center to enjoy Santa’s famous hot chocolate and a festive assortment of cookies. Warm up, relax, and take in the holiday spirit.

The celebration continues with a special arts-and-crafts area where kids can design and decorate their very own Christmas ornament to take home. It’s a hands-on activity families love—creative, memorable, and a perfect keepsake from their day at Resolute.

Whether it’s your family’s first trip to the farm or a return visit, Santa’s Stop at Resolute is designed to delight children and adults alike. From meeting Santa and horses to sipping hot chocolate and creating holiday crafts, every moment is crafted to bring joy, wonder, and Christmas magic!

Please note, the broodmares and racehorses will not be included in this experience. Guests will have the opportunity to meet some of Resolute Racing’s riding & rescue horses!

ABOUT RESOLUTE RACING

Established in 2023, Resolute Racing has rapidly expanded into a comprehensive breeding and racing operation. Founder, John Stewart, set down roots for his operation in Midway, KY where he purchased the former Shadayid Stud in December of 2023. This property spans 850 acres and sits on both sides of Leestown Road. Resolute runs its main broodmare and nursery on the south side of the property where it backs up to the Elkhorn, while the north side cares for its yearlings and racing layups. 

Their founder, John Stewart, is a Lexington home-bred and has been an avid fan of horse racing for many years, enjoying the races at Keeneland every Spring and Fall. He purchased his very first horse in the fall of 2022 at the well-known Keeneland September Yearling Sale. This one horse, Shiloh’s Mistress, went on to be Resolute Racing’s very first win at the beginning of 2023, thus kicking off our stable that has grown immensely and nailed down his first G1 victory in 2024 with Didia in the G1 New York Stakes run at Saratoga Racecourse.

Enjoy a drive through Kentucky Horse Country on this tour of WinStar Farm. You’ll be driven throughout the farm aboard the WinStar Farm shuttle, where you will see horses in paddocks and experience the ambiance of an evening at a horse farm.

Along the way, you’ll hear about the history of the farm and learn more about how champion horses are bred, raised and trained.

This experience is great for guests who want to enjoy the beautiful sights of a horse farm, but prefer less walking. Be sure to bring your camera to take as many photos as you’d like!

Please note, this tour may not include opportunities to interact directly with the horses. Since this is a working horse farm, the health and wellbeing of the horses takes precedent.

ABOUT WINSTAR FARM

WinStar was founded on a dream in 2000 by friends and business partners, Kenny Troutt and Bill Casner. What started as a 400-acre property – the former Prestonwood Farm – has grown to over 2,500 acres and is home to nearly 700 horses. Best for families who want to get into the holiday spirit at a famed Kentucky stallion farm, on Sunday, December 14 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Santa is stopping in the Bluegrass to see if there are any Thoroughbreds who might make a good addition to his sleigh team for Christmas Eve!

He’s going to make a stop at Lane’s End Farm in Horse Country, and we’d love to have you join us. This experience will include photos with Santa, a hot cocoa bar and holiday crafts for the kiddos, along with a short tour to meet some of the Lane’s End Farm stallions.

Children under 18 are required to be accompanied by an adult.

Your ticket includes a digital copy of a photo of you and your guest(s) with Santa, a hot cocoa bar and the opportunity to participate in holiday themed crafts. Photos will be emailed a few days after the tour.

We’ll begin the evening with a short stroll through the farm to see some of the resident mares. After the tour, you’ll create a hand-built holiday wreath as big as you can imagine using fresh-cut evergreens, a distinctive collection of berries & pine cones, & finish with a hand-tied bow for your own unique holiday wreath. bring a friend, let your creative juices flow, and enjoy some quality time & creativity together.

As a young boy, Craig Bandoroff lived in Cherry Hill, NJ very close to the Garden State Racetrack. He developed a passion for racing and began working summers on the track as a groom. In high school he participated in a vocational program school day, in which he worked at the track in the morning and attended honors classes in the afternoon.

Upon graduation, he chose the track over college, and worked full time as a groom, exercise rider and eventually an apprentice jockey for long time New Jersey trainer, Marty Fallon. In December of 1974, Craig was seriously injured in a track spill, ending his riding career. He spent nearly a year in a rehabilitation hospital and upon leaving, he enrolled in the University of Virginia (1977-78) and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1981 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Economics and Animal Science. In 1990 Craig founded Denali Stud alongside his wife, Holly.

Best for guests who want to get into the holiday spirit with a painting workshop hosted by famed Kentucky artist Kayla Weber Nord!

This one of a kind experience includes a short tour of Denali Stud’s picturesque nursery farm, before a painting workshop with Kayla Weber Nord. She will provide her expert guidance as guests learn to paint two custom Christmas ornaments.

The farm tour will begin at 5pm, followed by the painting workshop, which will conclude by about 8pm. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.

Resolute Racing is excited to invite fans to a special free public event celebrating one of the most remarkable mares in modern racing, PUCA (Big Brown), the 2024 Broodmare of the Year.

Guests will have the rare opportunity to meet Puca alongside her 2025 filly—a full sister to Kentucky Derby winner Mage, Belmont Stakes winner Dornoch, and Pennsylvania Derby winner Baeza. This outstanding young filly represents the next chapter in a family that has already rewritten racing history.

Fans will also be introduced to Puca’s 2024 colt, another full brother to Mage, Dornoch, and Baeza—making this an unprecedented chance to see two siblings from racing’s most influential current cross, side by side with their legendary dam. Resolute and Puca Merchandise will be available!

Individuals are welcome to reserve up to four total tickets for this experience. To allow for as many guests as possible to attend, any duplicate bookings are not permitted. In the event that an individual has reserved more than four tickets, they will be contacted by Horse Country to cancel any tickets above the allotted four.

On this tour, your guide will lead you through the grounds, stopping at the barn area and main track to catch morning training in action. You’ll also step inside the new, modernized Jockeys’ Quarters for an insider’s look into where some of the sport’s biggest names prepare for their day.

Enjoy a comfortable yet elegant setting while learning about Kentucky’s equine history at Darby Dan Farm, including its predecessor farm, Colonel E. R. Bradley’s Idle Hour, which was one of the early 20th century’s most impactful contributors to the sport of horse racing.   Darby Dan represents the history of Thoroughbred racing and breeding in America like few other farms.  

This tour begins in the historic manor home, where you’ll learn about the storied past of Darby Dan Farm and the many champion racehorses who were raised on this land.

From there, the tour varies seasonally.

In spring and early summer, you’ll have the chance to get up close and personal to mares & foals. These youngsters and their mommas are eager to meet new people and pose for photos! While enjoying your time with the horses, you’ll learn more about how horses are bred and raised at Darby Dan and farms across the Bluegrass.

In late summer and fall, you’ll visit to the stallion division where a handful of stallions will be shown for your group. You’ll learn about the various stages of a stud career and meet horses who have excelled on the racetrack and in the breeding shed. Darby Dan Farm’s current roster includes perennial leading sire Dialed In, Kentucky Derby winner Country House, and a number of other talented racehorses.

The tour concludes in the trophy room, a near museum of horse racing, with memorabilia from some of the sport’s biggest events. Along the way, you’ll see views captured in the movie Secretariat, which filmed a number of scenes at Darby Dan Farm (and around Lexington!).

Not only is Darby Dan Farm the home of leading stallions Dialed In and Flameaway, it was a filming location for Disney’s major motion picture Secretariat! Visitors to Darby Dan will get a behind-the-scenes look at the operations of a working Thoroughbred farm. Darby Dan is truly a historic location, and the original manor house has been restored to include a trophy room with memorabilia from the farm’s storied past. BraveHearts Equine Center is located in Paris, Kentucky. Owners David and Ruth Waronker founded the nonprofit after realizing there was a need for more support systems for draft horses from abuse, slaughter, and neglect. This relaxed setting allows for up-close-and-personal experiences with the horses, as well as breath-taking views of the land that the Bluegrass has come to be famous for. Get to know the stories of the Bell family; ask questions; pet the resident horses and take photos of them.

The tour kicks off in the breeding shed where you will gain an understanding of why this land is so uniquely suited for the Thoroughbred and learn the history of the Headley family and their involvement in the industry.

From there, you will hop in your vehicles and follow the tour guide around the farm in a caravan. The group will then stop at different locations around the farm to interact with horses of varying ages. You’ll be able to get up close and personal with friendly equine residents, and even feed them carrots!

The tour ends back in the breeding shed with our resident stallions, OSCAR PERFORMANCE, Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf winner with racetrack earnings over $2.3 million and who currently holds the world record for the fastest mile on the turf, ALOHA WEST, Breeders’ Cup Sprint winner with earnings on the racetrack over $1.5 million, and our newest stallion, CASA CREED, four-time Grade 1 winner and earner of $2.6 million!

We will be outdoors during the tour, so be sure to wear appropriate shoes and comfortable clothing that suits all weather!

ABOUT MILL RIDGE FARM

Visit us at Mill Ridge Farm, near iconic Keeneland Racetrack, and experience a farm renowned for raising and selling first class Thoroughbreds. Owner Alice Headley Chandler’s father, Hal Price Headley, was the main force in the founding of Keeneland, and the first President of what is considered one of the greatest racetracks in the world.

After his death in a Keeneland barn in 1962, Alice inherited the land that would become Mill Ridge Farm. Just six years later she became the first woman to breed an Epsom Derby winner in SIR IVOR.
